Jacquard Weaving - Named after the French inventor Joseph Marie Jacquard (1752 - 1834). A system of weaving that utilizes a highly versatile pattern machine to weave intricate, custom designs. The weave pattern is created by a series of punched cards unique to the design.
Jersey Knit - A circular-knit or flat-knit fabric with a plain stitch in which the loops intermesh in only one direction. As a result, the front (face) of the fabric is very different from the back.
Jet Dyeing Machine - A high-temperature piece-dyeing machine that circulates the dye liquor through a venturi jet system which creates a driving force to move the fabric.
Just-In-Time - An efficient inventory control system in which materials are timed to arrive just before they are needed. This system improves the flexibility and operating cash of the company by delaying inventory and/or cash commitments until some future period when the materials can be put to near immediate use.
